Lighting Design and the Magic of Technical Theater
My fascination with the behind-the-scenes magic of live productions began at an early age, as my family introduced me to the wonders of theater. Whether it was a community play or a high school musical, I was captivated by the way lighting could transform a simple stage into a transcendent experience.
This innate passion for technical artistry led me to Salt Lake Community College, where I am immersing myself in the world of lighting design and production technology. Having already completed introductory courses in Lighting and Stage Craft, I am now honing my skills in areas like programming, light board operation, and intelligent lighting control.
With a natural affinity for electronics inherited from my electrical engineer grandfather, I am driven to master the latest technologies that bring lighting designs to life. I am currently dedicating my efforts to becoming proficient in software like Vectorworks and ETC's EOS environment for virtual lighting programming.
My career aspirations are to apply my technical expertise in lighting to craft unforgettable experiences in live theater. I hope to one day design for local community theater productions, dance companies, and even church worship services. Combining my easy-going nature with an insatiable thirst for learning, I am committed to continuously expanding my capabilities in this dynamic field.
